VINYL ADDICTION, OBSESSION AND MORE.
Another long time want that I finally managed to get. I only had the second press on regular black so was happy to get this at last on colour with the Black sabbath sleeve. Two snags though, it wasn't all too cheap and the cover is a bit bent so that cunt won't be getting any positive feedback,still nice to have this anyway. When's the repress finally coming out though?
Always nice when you finaly get something that's been on your wants list, even better when it's a bargain to boot. This cost £5.50 off eGay which surprised me when I won it. I just left a bid, my maximum price I was willing to pay and came back to it afterwards. As luck would have it no-one had gone past my initial bid so I got it for just 50 pence more than it was when I placed the bid even though I'd put a maximum down for a lot more. Anyway what more needs be said about this classic hardcore record. We all know the singer when on to score fame in the shitty band Rage against the machine (utter wank!!) but this is still amazing. 1000 were pressed on blue and they don't pop up that often so I 'm glad it's crossed off my list at last.
Yesterday was national record store day where independent shops all over the world partake in a celebration of a dying breed-the record shop. There were a few special items made especially for the occasion and I thought this was the best. The first classic Bad religion 7" repressed with gatefold sleeve on hot looking pink thick vinyl.
When I found out that Throne records from Spain were putting this classic album out on vinyl I was stoked. They announced it a year or so before they even started taking pre-orders so after a while this seemed like it was never going to happen. Anyway after the record was available to pre-order there was a delay at the pressing plant which took a few months and then I thought my package had been lost in the post when I found out they were all sent out a bit back. Thankfully my package showed up this week. It's a one time pressing of 666 copies and I opted for the two colour editions (222 of each, the last lot being on black). It's one heavy package and I don't just mean the music. As you can see above it comes in a lush gatefold sleeve and also includes a nice print (see below) 
Also the colours are orange and black/blue splatter.
It does sound good too. I've had the CD for years so this was great to finally see (and hear) it on wax. In case you slept on it, this is one of the most heaviest, most miserable albums ever. I love it!!! Have to say with the currency being the way it is and heavy packaging it wasn't too cheap but having pre-ordered it ages back it would have cost me a lot more now as the Euro/pound thing has gotten even worse since.
Yeah I have been slack posting stuff up I know, it's not like I haven't had much in either, just good old fashion laziness. Anyway this did come this week. It's the 2nd (superb) LP from Liverpool thrashers SSS. This was sold at the release gig back in October but I missed the show and thought getting one of these wasn't ever going to happen as there were only 30 of them-which all went in the first half hour I believe. Luckily someone contacted about selling me theirs so I bit their hand off. Like the thrash bag(see previous post) this is sewn up so unless you want to unstitch then you can't get in the fucker. Well us record nerds never actually play the things anyway do we? It actually contains the white vinyl pressing (limited to 100) and the 7" and some other crap. Musically it's awesome, just as their first LP was. Total 80's crossover worship which is where I came from.
As you can see mine is number 19 (like the crap Paul Hardcastle track). 
Anyone who knows me will know that I'm definately far from being straight edge these days but I still have a soft spot for a lot of the old school sxe/youth crew/posi HC since that was mainly my soundtrack when I was a kid first getting into HC punk. I always liked this album although I'd never put it in the same league as YOT, GBs etc but it's still a good album and I love that cover still. It sums up what I thought HC was all about when I was 17. I always had a 1st press but never had this, a 2nd press on white until now. When it popped up on ebay I decided to put a sneaky bid on it and it actually won. All I need now is a third press copy on blue. Anyone got one for trade/sale?
Wooahh!! This is perhaps the finest grindcore album ever. In fact to any grind band starting up I'd advise they study this album as a text book example how to do it properly. This is has been on my wants list for years. When it was released I opted for the CD version (duh!!) and before I knew it the vinyl version was sold out. And then I lost my fucking CD!!!!! Anyway fast forward a few years later and I've finally tracked it down, on green vinyl too. 100 were done in this colour and as you can imagine they're not easy to find, in fact it very rarely even pops up on ebay. I actually got it off a dealer for £7.50. Guess he didn't really know about this one. Not that I'm complaining mind you.
