Subhumans-The day the country died LP

I first heard this album after I traded a copy back in 1996 which is oddly the same timeline between now and when it was first released back in 1982. Straight away I was well into this. I dunno, I was never into much anarcho stuff but there was something about this band which stood out from their peers for me. It's lyrics still stand the test of time and the music is great and intense. I love that artwork on the cover too. What a great sleeve!!! A couple of years ago all the Subhumans' LPs were re-released, remastered but I only recently just found out that they all came out on different colours of vinyl so the hunt starts again. I picked this up first as it's easily my favourite LP by them and if I was going to re-buy any of them then this had to be it. As you tell below it's on a nice (180g) thick red vinyl.
Also you get a nice poster with it (below). I guess this is the same deal with all the other re-releases.

Listening to this again, I'm glad I got another copy. It's still a great album and they are still making really fucking good records (check out 2007's Internal Riot). Just means I need to buy the rest of the buggers again. Bah!!!

Fucked up-Daytrotter 7"

With the chaos that was record store 2010 just gone I decided to do a post of one of the things that I picked up. I did get a Sick of it all 7" on clear but other people will be doing better and more detailed posts about it so I thought I'd cover the other 'hardcore' record that was available on the day. 'Hardcore' is a very loose description of Fucked up these days. They've certainly evolved into a different beast since their early days. These 3 tracks were recorded at the end of 2008 and have wierd a almost trippy vibe about them. Not sure of the pressing info for this. It could be 2000 worldwide (with 500 of them being for the UK) but I could be wrong. I know a very small quanity had diffrent sleeves so no doubt they'll be the ones making coin on ebay. Another one to add to the million fucked up records that I own and one to tick off the list of the million others that I don't have.

Velocity girl-Copacetic LP

Yeah, this is a surprise for me as well. I usually prefer my stuff hard, heavy and fast but hey everyone has to mellow out sometimes and this is perfect. That said the music is quite hard hitting in places (reminding me a bit of Sunny day real estate) but with beautiful female vocals on top I never bothered with this back in the day for obvious reasons but old age, open mindedness and the fact it was only a quid made me bite the bullet and pick it up and I'm glad I did. I need more now...
Nice red vinyl. Not sure how many were pressed but probably loads as this is a Sub pop Euro release.

My copy came with a poster too. Not that I'll be sticking this on any wall in my house,. It looks like a unpublished still from the film 'revenge of the nerds'. What a bunch of utter geeks!
