Converge Axe to fall LP

The new Converge platter from Deathwish records and it's smoking. This is the supposed exclusive UK only version on clear blue vinyl. There's a few more colours available but I'll be fucked if I'm buying them all. This will do. Musically it's no 'petitioning the empty sky' or 'Jane Doe' but it's better than any of the last two releases. Dare I say it but it sounds more METAL than their other stuff!!! I've played around 3 times and it's really starting to grow on me more and more. Always a good sign. Nice packaging too, check out the gatefold sleeve.

Jailcell recipes

Jailcell recipes were from Wigan way and were quite popular around my town back in the day. They played good hardcore stuff which was melodic yet rough at the same time.Thier first LP was pretty rubbish mainly due to a really bad production job but the second one 'Two years of toothache' was pretty bloody fine and featured cover art by Karl Alverez of ALL fame. Anyway recently I picked up a test press for it as you can see above. No cover though which is a shame, now I want a regular copy.

Off the same dude who I got the test press from I also got this limited single. 500 hand numbered. My lucky number is 244. It's weird hearing these again. They sound pretty damn good after all these years. They did actually do a reunion show back in 2006 at the annual Night of the living dead festival in Liverpool but i had to catch the last train back home. Members are now in a new band called Bail bond but the singer has already left so who knows what's happening now.

Soulstice dark hour 7" on red

First heard this 3 track vegan sXe classic record back in 1995. I was well into Earth crisis and wanted to hear anything similar. I picked it up from a distro and was hooked upon the first listening. Raging chugga, crunchy hardcore with a HUGE metal edge. One of them is wearing a Slayer shirt on the cover which as mad as it sounds now was big news back in the day. Hardcore bands very rarely if ever wore metal shirts. And then at some point every hardcore kid wore a fucking metal shirt. Anyway apart from the sound and the politics that they had in common with Earth crisis they also hailed from the same place Syracuse, NY. They also did a CD called 'Raze the earth' which is damn good too but not as awesome as this. I only found out a few years later that this was also released on red vinyl so I put it on my wants list but it rarely pops up. Anyway one turned up on eGay recently and it had my name on it. Funny I've been listening to loads of old vegan sXe stuff recently. I may not be edge anymore but I am vegan so half of me is still true to the cause.

Yeah fuck you Rob Zombie for trying to ruin the legacy of a classic horror movie with your abortion of a remake in 2007. No doubt your recent follow up will suck dicks as well. Anyway here's a cool Michael Myers doll that I picked up at a car boot sale a while back. The original movie (and the original sequel) still fucking rock.

Think I care-Mongrel 10" Pre-order

Scored this off eGay recently. Nice price but fucking postage from States bumped it up considerably which always pisses me off. Anyway this is probably my favourite record by Think I care and this is a nice item to have. it's #ed 049 of 187 and on lovely red vinyl.

Septic death-Now that I have your attention LP Boot

Ah Septic death. I've been a fan since 1988 when someone gave me a copy of this on a badly recorded cassette (with Attitude adjustment 'American paranoia' being on the other side). I nearly shit myself when I first heard this. Anyway being a collector SD are a total nightmare. Millions of things out that usually command daft prices on eGay. Anyway I picked up this lovely looking bootleg at a show the other night simply because it was on red vinyl, It says 10/104 on the back and doing a bit of research I believe there is a even more limited quantity on blue. Anyway I recommend this release to collectors and just anyone who hasn't checked them out before (otherwise you'd own this record in some form already).
